Washington State Ferries on VHF150

I am sooooo confused, I bought a West Marine VHF150 and I went down to the ferries, and tried every single channel, and I can't put in 151.040 on this one. Any Ideas? I tried VTS Ch.14, and that is just normal traffic.

That is a portable radio that is pre-programmed with marine frequencies only. It is not a PROGRAMMABLE radio. You will not be able to enter your own desired frequencies.

Why? It's very simple really. You bought a VHF MARINE handheld. You should have spent $26 on a Baofeng handheld: Amazon.com

FWIW, there is [limited] ferry activity on the new WSDOT system as well but you'll need a much more expensive scanner to monitor that.
