Does anyone know if Kitsap/Mason (Bremerton) area conventional is down for maintenance possibly?? I live in the Castle Rock Area and have been getting them clear as day, And the last 2 days I have only heard their dispatch on 154.665 twice. Ha just curious.

Do you monitor JIWN also?
Most of the D8 traffic I hear up here is JIWN / off of Gold Mt.
Down in Castle Rock, not sure what site serves your area down there.
I'd check Baw Faw(?)

I have JIWN but haven’t thought to use it, Mainly due to the fact that for stuff I have heard before doesn’t always get dispatched over that system, I’m gonna check those other two sites though

whats interesting is. Olympia Wsp comes in clear as day all day long. Same with Pacific/Grays Harbor county. Just weird how Kitsap/mason Bremerton conventional I have only heard twice in the last 2 days. I heard 2 dispatches this morning and that was it.

yes. Justice Integrated Wireless Network

Oh that one, yeah I got it, even with all the services turned on, I don't hear anything on it. Last night I went to bed and this morning checked the recordings and nothing., even when I use the full database. Normally I have a few of them in my favorites and occasionally hear WSP dispatch on Signal Peak or Baw Faw. I've never heard anything on WADOT. Most everything I receive is conventional. In fact I'll probably remove WADOT from my favorites as it slows down scanning and reduces hits on conventional frequencies.

Up here, I get WSP on all three (conventional, JIWN and 700).
So, I monitor all three. And... there is no rhyme or reason as to who uses which, when - or where.
In Seattle, 700 is generally the most active, but sometimes, there will be something on conventional and not on 700.
(and the 700 is usually being monitored by RTL/FastLane, so no scanner is missing anything - every channel grant shows in the CC/VC logs.

Then sometimes, I'll hear the same transmission on both.
Go figure...

I've been up in WA state several times each year over the past 10 years. Each time I visit I make sure to scan EVERY method out there, especially the Justice Network. Once channels are digital they can easily be "transported" to other digital systems. Another factor is to listen to any tower you can receive a decent signal from, not just what's close. I've found it "funny" that I can be in Tacoma/Spanaway and hear King county WASP often better than Pierce WASP. It just depends on what they're using (conventional, Justice, etc.).

Is anyone getting anything off of the Maxwell Hill site for the Wsp trunked system? I am getting Full bars on Tacoma Site and full bars on Maxwell hill, My RSSI dBm is Excellent. As I said before I am in the South End of Castle Rock, I have a 40ft tower outside, But not positive on why nothing is coming in when everything is this excellent.i also will add, I am pulling in Olympia Conventional clear as day. But not getting anything off of the Simulcast sites.

Forgive my ignorance…

Do the VHF simulcasts for DivIsion 2 and 7 pass ALL traffic whether it originates on JIWN or 700mhz?

I listen quite often on my VHF only XTL5000 and I catch plenty of traffic… but it seems like the volume of that traffic has decreased significantly.

In D1 (Pierce County) you will pick up the most WSP "area" traffic on VHF conventional. This is because TG activity from any of the trunked systems comes out on conventional at all times in combination with the users already on VHF. When listening to the trunked systems only, not all TGs are necessarily active if no users are affiliated with a specific TG on a specific site or simulcast group. To my understanding, WSP users in D1 could be on VHF conventional, WSP700, or SS911. Not sure if WSP is using IWN in Pierce County for D1 traffic, can't pick up any of those sites well (despite them being on VHF).

Yup in suburban Pierce county I usually pick up D1 traffic over VHF P25 whereas I receive King county traffic over the Justice Network.
