Tonight, Washoe Co SO GREEN is coming in on 02-001.
02-021 the USUAL GREEN is silent. I'm guessing there is some sort of patch involved although there is no indication of that on the display.
In the past, my logs show that 02-001 has been active as fire dispatch when dispatching a Gerlach assignment and when 03-031 and 03-033 simulcasted the fire dispatch.

I sure wish someone who is more familiar with this system could chime in and explain why fire dispatches occasionally simulcast on 03-031, 03-032 and 03-033 and maybe others, and how 02-001 fits into this.

Also, does anyone know what a HENRY unit is in the Washoe Co lineup? While responding to a call tonight for cover in a remote location (on 02-001), two units switched to (couldn't hear this word, but possibley "IC")TAC-2 and the conversation was on 02-142.

Anyone?

OK, things are back to normal already. I think I heard a unit say "You can shut down GOLD" right before things went back to normal.

Has anyone ever confirmed Washoe County GOLD as 02-001?

I heard 02-142 ID'd as IC TAC-2 the other day, anyone know what IC might stand for? There is nothing for anything IC in the database.

Incident Command!

Possibly but I don't think so. The times I have heard that TG active its usually a couple of schmucks BS'in. I don't think they're law enforcement but I've heard so little there who knows.

Groups 2-001 through I believe 2-012 are patch talkgroups - they are used at various times for various things. Reno and Washoe county are in a combined dispatch center and they dispatch several different agencies - when staffing level is low (especialy graveyards) they frequently will use a patch channel so that one dispatcher can handle both agencies - most common is one dispatcher hanlding the secondary channels for both Washoe County and Reno - but they could actually combine any of the normal talkgroups and patch them to one of these channels for just about any sitiuation. Bottom line is that you could hear just about anything on these talkgroups.

As far as the "GOLD" channel - it could possibly be the Gerlach area channel - IC could be one of the interagency channels that have now been programed into the Washoe System but I can not confirm that.

Get ready for a mass reprogramming of the Washoe System frequencies due to the Nextel frequency settlement.

Hey Just dawned on me - the Henry units are Reno Sparks Indian Colony Tribal police - so I am going to take a SWAG (scientific wild ass guess) and say that maybe IC is "Indian Colony" and that you may have ID'd a talkgroup for us - it makes sense - maybe someone else can confirm??? I do know that the Indian Colony Tribal Police is one of the agencies that are dispatched grom the regional communications center.

Good detective work Joe. Submit it? I wondered about the Tribal police and if they indeed were dispatched by Washoe or had their own freq. Now I wonder what happened with IC TAC-1?

While we are on the topic of unID'd Washoe IDs, the 14-1xx talkgroups seem to be individual school channels. I'm pretty sure 14-123 is Hug High but I can't confirm its exclusive use.

Just a possibility but they have two main but wdely seperated areas, one in Reno near Reno Hilton and the other in Hungry Valley - so they may use a different tac channel for the different areas - just a possiblity - so don't take it for gospel -may also have to take in account the BIA tribal units at Pyramid Lake - which also use the system
