Are there any avid monitors of the Waterford TRS system who know, and might share, the aliases of the following (any any others not listed) Patch/Simulselect Subgroups?
226
227
228
229
231
290

Thanks in advance
Dennis

Wondering if you are asking about TG’s not yet identified in the database on RR? Most of the TG’s are already identified. Are you asking about TG’s not listed? Or are you asking about unit ID’s?

If it’s the TG’s you are looking at (they are 3 digit numbers like the ones you inquire about), the “100” series look to be assigned to the police, “200” series are assigned to fire, etc. It’s a start, you can at least determine which service you are hearing, it not the specific division, subgroup within that service.

If it’s unit ID’s (a specific police car, fire apparatus, ambulance, etc.), the first digit of the number probably also refers to the service and the remaining two digits relate to the vehicle, or portable handie talkie. Again, at least you’ve got the service identified. The remaining two unit ID digits may or may not relate to a patrol or coverage area as the vehicles can be re-assigned… meaning a particular fire apparatus, police car or ambulance may get temporarily assigned to another area due to many reasons… such as routine mechanical inspections/repairs that take a unit offline.

Sorry I haven’t any firsthand info on the assignments but hopefully what I did provide will help. It’s part of the fun of monitoring if you want to take it that far. Personally, I don’t track unit ID’s because they are usually given when a unit is dispatched, a fire truck will sign on using “Engine 3 responding” or dispatch will call “HQ to unit 7” etc., giving all their unit ID over-the-air.

First of all, thanks for the replies. I should have made mention in my original post that to better understand my specific question as asked one needs to run DSD+ ( FYI: current Fastlane version is 2.360) on the system and observe the beginning/opening display when it starts.
Thanks again to all. Stay safe, stay well.

So is it talkgroups your looking for or radio IDs I have a pretty good list of radio IDs from waterford and newlondon Fire but those are longer than 3 digit numbers.

When you start DSDPlus, it shows the patches running on the system. Here is a look from a visit to the area in August:

Some of the groups are known, but as the original post states, he is curious what the unknowns he listed are.
