I was not able to pay 100 percent attention as i work overnights and i was just waking up, but I think the waterford system had an issue today, it mostly affected waterford, so i am not sure if anyone has more information on that, like I said I only got bits and pieces

Waterford's TRS is used by The Town of Waterford and City of New London. East Lyme is patched by Station W for mutual aid, East Lyme is not a user of the Waterford TRS. Montville, L&M Medics and the Police Hotline are also patched, but not users of the system.

Montville Police has a talkground, but it is deprecated, as Montville Police are no longer VHF, they are now on CLMRN.

It was posted else where that there was an issue.
What is the third town of the "Tri-Town System"?

It is not a tri-town system, it is a dual town system. The same poster incorrectly referred to Wtfd TRS as tri-town in both posts. The Waterford TRS is used by Waterford and New London.

Channel 1 of the Waterford TRS was down due to a rx module failure. It is now fixed and back up.

NLPD was having issues the other day as well officers told to only use radios for emergency transmissions while radio techs were working the system for a fix. All appears to be fixed now

anyone here like just plain old analog? less complicated and in many ways more reliable
Whether or not we prefer analog isn't relevant. Digital and Trunking offer considerably more flexibility and interoperability. When you can push the PTT in Groton and talk to someone in Waterbury as if they were standing 20 feet away, you gain a whole new perspective on why the technology is being implemented and it public safety capabilities.

As for reliability, Montville's VHF analog has been offline multiple times, as has East Lyme's.

No. The Local Town Police here used VHF analog for years with a voted repeater system. Many times, the VHF was down for maintenance, and they still couldn't figure it out. Once they moved to the trunked system recently, the problems went away, and there's nothing but crystal clear audio, and the coverage blankets the entire town.

Another town over still operates on VHF analog with the same type of voted repeater system, and it's absolutely horrible to listen to.
