Can anyone tell me a scanner that works on the new system they installed last year in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City Area 48186 & 48185 I had the Home Patrol 1 and around last March it went pretty Silence

Here is what I can find
The five communities of Dearborn Heights, Garden City, Inkster, Wayne, and Westland that comprise the Western Wayne Mutual Aid Association have decided to migrate to the MPSCS. When examining the costs associated to upgrade the infrastructure on their now obsolete 800 MHz legacy trunking system that was built by Motorola nearly 15 years ago, it was far more cost effective to move to the statewide interoperability network. The changeover should be completed by early January, 2014.


Does anyone know of a scanner that works for this area now ?

If they are moving to the MPSCS without encryption, any of the digital scanners including and after the Pro 106/BCD396xt should work. Simulcast will probably be better with a later model such as the Whistler 1080 or the newest Unidens.

Another thought. Did you do the rebanding for the system?

Your Home Patrol 1 should work. Your scanners data base needs to be up dated and/or your scan lists need to be modified. I do not have a Home Patrol so I can't help with the specific steps you need to perform to accomplish the up dates.

You should not need a new scanner.
