I just read that Wayne County is looking at building a VHF Trunking system. The county board voted to not sign on with the VIPER system. The article says it will be a 8 channel sytem.
Anyone know anything aobut this? The paper says it will start building the system over the next 3 years at a cost of $7.5 Mil. To go with the VIPER (sccording to the article) will cost $14 Mil. It went on to say that by not doing this , they will lose out on $1.2 Mil in Home Land Security grants.
The plan calls for 5 sites : Goldsboro, Fremont, Seven Springs, Mt. Olive and Grantham. And it will be "P-25."
This should be intestering. See if they have the same problems that Brunswick County is having.
