Hey there I have issues with my home patrol 2 receiving my local police department’s where I live. It has worked fine for years and now I’m not getting anything much at all. I’m located in Webster City Iowa. Hamilton county 50595. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello, not from the area but it seems that all Webster City PD is on ISICS. You may be experiencing simulcast distortion on the home patrol 2 as it is not meant to handle simulcast systems. as it shows the database law enforcement is not encrypted.

so that would leave simulcast distortion as one of the only answers.

As noted above, the Webster City PD is on ISICS. There is a link for streaming it on Broadcasting so it is on-the-air. I'd verify your ISICS programming if you are not hearing it. I'd also limit yourself to monitoring only the Hamilton County Simulcast site and lock out all other ISICS sites.

It worked before with the same scanner? You didn't make any programming changes since then did you? I'll echo the simulcast distortion diagnosis of those above me. Even if you move the scanner a few inches from a "sweet spot" at your monitoring location you'll lose reception altogether. It's the nature of the simulcast beast. You should highly consider selling the HP-2 and picking up an SDS100 or SDS200 as these scanners were built to mitigate the effects of simulcast distortion
