Hi, I joined last week. I was trying to find out why I cannot hear anything on the Scanner app on my phone for West Jordan Police.
To me it sounds like the old freq is still playing with no traffic now that the P25 is live. I am interested in purchasing a new device to listen to.
I am thinking about a Unification pager as it has bluetooth that I could use my Shokz headset. Can anyone confirm West Jordan Police is not encrypted?

you need a digital radio scanner to decode any salt lake county police or fire that is not enc some are some are not the data base is not up todate on the enc list but i belive all poilce are enc the radio must have 700 megh and p25 xtdma or you willl be wasting you money. you need a uniden bcd536hp or a unident sds 100 or 200 or a TRX 2 from whistler the scanner app can not receive the new digital stuff

At this time, the only agency within Salt Lake County that utilizes encryption on a regular basis is Salt Lake City PD. All other agencies (including Salt Lake City FD) are not encrypted.

Correct, one that handles P25 Phase-II/TDMA

not all talk groups are phase 2 i can hear davis county all channels with my p25 phase 1 scanner
