The noise you hear on 453.850 is a DMR data only system out of Smithtown NY operating WAY over the 5 watts ERP they are licensed for All CC! and never any voice traffic

Im told the FCC has been contacted

They are causing interference to a bunch of public safety channels around NY and CT

Yes I’m hearing the noise on 453.85 and 460.4375.

Interesting there are other agencies affected. Has anyone heard any voice on the Smithtown system? What data is on it? I’m surprised the FCC hasn’t done anything.

I don’t see anything in the database for smithtown.
