What Columbus TG's To Program?

I know it's been asked before, but for you folks from the Columbus area, what are the good TG's to program for PD/FD? Besides the main dispatches, should I program the PatrolTAC channels, or do they just "jibjab" on there? Ummm, also what firegrounds do they use for larger incidents? I just don't know if I want to put the city in one bank and then the county in a seperate bank or what, so any input I would be greatful for. Thanks in advance.

I have all that listed in my 396T.

I really don't listen to CPD, Westerville PD, or Hilliard PD.

Most of the time CPD does not go past the "A" channel.

Dont forget Grove City 800TRS and Dublin 800TRS, Washington Fire will work of of Washington TAC-1, that is on the Dublin 800TRS only.

Jackson Fire and Pleasant Twp Fire are on the Grove City 800TRS so you have to program them into the radio also.

My Grandparents live in Jerome Twp outside of Dublin, so I'm always listening to them when I visit. Hopefully I'll hear some kewl stuff next time I do. How do they sound from that area now? Anybody know? Also, how about the Lancaster area, can Columbus be heard pretty well now? I'm asking because the last time I was there I had to use my signal amp with RS' 800MHz antenna and it did a descent job. I thought I read somewhere that they updated something on their system. Just wondering, don't mean to bug ya'll about this. TIA

Lancaster comes in good. Jerome seems to be ok since the new tower is up and running. Kinda depends on where exactly in Jerome.

Tac 6 TG. Leav'em out if you need the room. Long disccusion with another person about that.

Almost never, same for the TAC 1 talkgroups. I don't even have them in my scanners.

Seems like Tac 6 is the talkgroup of choice for training fires within a particular battalion lately, but they don't even touch the tac channels (except Tac5, AKA ALT FG) unless its a 2nd or higher...

They only use the TAC channels as you said, greater alarm fires and other times where alot of radio traffic is happening on the main FG channel. On greater alarms, the 2nd alarm companies respond on TAC 1.

Virtually never...

In fact, you could leave out all of the BNx TACx talkgroups and still not miss a thing.

Same goes for CPD. Leave out the PTACxA through PTxE talkgroups and all you'll miss, usually, is pointless chatter.
