What does 'NCA' stand for?

Greetings to all,

Does anyone know what the term "NCA" stands for. I have heard some NJ PD's use that term. I am guessing that it essentially means that no action was taken on a complaint/ call. Thanks for all info.

National Command Authority (=POTUS and SECDEF) but I don't think this is what the NJ police ment to say.....

NCA stands for No Car Available.

And if you continually hear it used, either your cops are quite busy or possibly undermanned. Maybe a little of both too.

If it's used to close out an assignment, instead of No Cars Available maybe it is No Cause for Action?

Thanks to all that responded. I should have provided more info up front; the term is always used in the context of "I'm clear, NCA". The <no cause for action> seems to be what they mean. --John
