Really? Can I really listen to communication from the Space shuttle and stuff in orbit?

What is there to listen to and where? This sounds interesting. How do I get started? Will my little Pro-93 work or do I need to upgrade?

Thanks

I don't know why that link is here...but you can hear the Shuttle when it launches (not much thereafter IF you are in the flight path during ascent or reentry), and there are ways to hear the Station (particularly WHEN the astronauts are active, and IF it happens to be over your area at the time). You would need a much better antenna than the cheap duckie that comes with most scanners, and some software (or use the online links) for tracking so you know when to listen (and, sometimes, watch).

Our SATCOM wiki has lots of details...
