What portable AAR radios have been made?

American Association of Railroads (AAR)

I recall there being a line of VHF portable radios with DTMF function that also allowed the user to field program select AAR channels for TX and RX. It looks similar to a MT2000 or some other "Jedi" series radio. I think the scan feature was deleted and possibly the LCD screen was relocated to the top of the radio instead of the face.

What were the different models produced and what were the part numbers and any user Manuals that were made specific to the railroad radio.

I don't think there was ever an AAR-specific Jedi radio.

The JT1000 offers field programming, but it has a front display. It's also limited to 16 channels.

Are you thinking of the MTS2000. That was the railroad standard Motorola HT for years. Had a full DTMF keypad and the top display or a side display, depending on the railroad you were with.

Now its the Kenwood NX or Icom series radios to be had! With JEM or other 3rd party re-builds in the cabs.
