• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Ok I have done my research and everyone is right their is no way to change this limit, Under the cirumstances what radio do you recommend, I really don't want to go backwards to older stuff.

I am wanting to run a motorola ANALOG only on 2 meters, with the information below:

This is my problem (thier should be an attachment come thru) as you see I am limited on room one of these m1225 is public safety 20 channels and other is Ham 20 channels, The problems is,

#1 as you see I have limited space so a CDM series is probably going to be to big,(remote mount radio would be a possible solution)

#2 limited # of channels with a m1225 (btw this radio will come out when I get a new one)

#3 I would only as a last resort would like to goto pre-2000 technology,

#4 I am also a strictly a MOTOROLA man, sorry but its in the blood.

even with a CM300 I only get a net gain of 12 channels, any advice?

Thanks in Advanced

With the CDM1250 you will have enough channels for your needs and you can eliminate the speakers as the 1250 has an internal speaker. With an angle hump bracket there should be enough room for that. A remote head mount radio would give you even more room. If you must have the external speaker move it to the passenger side of the hump under the dash.

I can even do better than that a dealer email me this morning:
AAM25KKF9DP6 N 160ch. VHF 136-174Mhz - $570 ea. (CDM1550LS+)

does everything but digital I the area in am in If you do digital you might as well go with .800 mhz that where all the public safety is going, (but that will be my chirstmas present)

Hello fineshot1

Got everything put together. Right now I am trying my CDM1550 LS+ in my living room hooked to a Ringo Ranger II. After It is installed into the car I will post pics up on this thread. I having to use the remote head kit cause it is a little to long to put on top of the M1225 (I am leaving 1 of the M1225 in place).
