What trunks are pre-programmed???

On the BCT8, does anyone know what trunk systems are pre-programmed into it at the factory.

I know for IL it falls under E type, Just curious if there is a site I could go to that tells what systems, and what talk groups are pre-programmed into it?

I may be wrong, but I read the owners manual and the uniden sales literature and it looks like the service searches are pre-programed and the highway patrol extender frequencies were also pre-programed. I don't see anything that shows actual trunked systems programed.

The closest thing to trunking preprogramming is the PRO96 V-folders. In most cases however lots of detail is missing. I've checked the SC info and it will get the scanner operating BUT there is more detail missing than programmed.

I assumed that since the freqs. were stored in the "HWY" bank, they had just put in some state police system with state police trooper talk groups.

I'll have to sit down sometime and look at the freqs., and try to match them up with the trunking info in the database.

I just figured that surely somewhere ther would be a list of what they used.

I thought about calling Uniden and asking, but the last time I called their customer service, I wasn't real impressed. The extent of their knowledge was limited to turning the pages of the owners manual. :roll:

I don't think that's related in any way to this scanner though... The BC246T comes preprogammed with quite a few trunked systems without need for V-folders.

I compared the freqs. to the database, and it seems like it's got the Chicago area edacs system in it.

Pre-programmed frequencies specific to each state (except Hawaii).

• Pre-programmed Trunked and conventional Highway Patrol frequencies

• Highway Patrol Priority Alert
-Receive audible and visual alert when within three miles of many Highway Patrol/State
units

• Pre-programmed frequencies for the following categories:
-Local Police and County Sheriffs
-Fire and Emergency Medical Service
-News Media
-Weather (continuous NOAA weather and Canadian Coast Guard broadcasts)
-CB Radio
-Aircraft
-Railroads
-Marine Band
-Department of Transportation
