BC246T: What's this mean?

I just tried to update the firmware on my BC246T. I got a message saying

"This scanner is not an object of BC246T
Update impossible
Please unplug scanner"

I deleted and downloaded the installer and the firmware again but got the same message.
What is going on?

You're either trying to update the radio with the wrong firmware image, or you are trying to update the radio with the zip file. If you haven't unzipped the file, do so and try again.

Thank you PiccoIntegra. I now have Firmware ver. 2.60. I hadn't unzipped the file. I'm not very computer knowledgeable, more computerscidal! I very much appreciate your help.
