Whats this?

Perhaps someone will know what this little box is..
When i was instlaling my aftermarket stereo i saw a blinking green light on the inside of the dash.. After a bit of taking plates n such off the dash area i found this little box.. Had 2 blinking green lights on it. There was an aftermarket wire harness attached to it and these 2 antennas stuck up under the dash aswell.. Not a clue what it is. The car is ex opp.. maybe gps tracker for their mdt's?

Sounds like a GPS to cellular device. Probably reports GPS coord to a cellular system for tracking.

What you have there is a device that some car dealerships install to keep track of/enforce payment of their goods, if you don't make a payment suddenly you hear a voice admonishing you to pay up and if you still don't the next thing you know you come back to an empty parking space where your car should be.

I wonder about the laws concerning selling a car to someone with a tracking device & not telling them .
Without the receiver its no good to you unless you pursue something legally ,...
maybe make a battery pack for it & tie it to a weather balloon & let them track that,....

It came out the 2nd day of having the car.
As soon as i saw the antenna and it saying GPS and the other i knew it was a gps/data device but didnt know WHAT it really did.. sooo took it out anyways. Figured it was a trackign thing of some sort.. Do OPP cars in the GHQ area have gps tracking? Mine was a HSD car

I suspect you are being watched. When old cruisers are sold they remove everything from them, the fact that the device was blinking green should be a good indication that it is there for a reason.

Ah was only in there for a day.
No it sits on my desk doing nothing.. No need to put it back in unless i can figure out how it transmitts n such and be able to track it from my laptop or something like that.. But i doubt that.

So its a useless tool now
