Do the admins know how difficult it is to find information in the 396 thread? It's HUGE. Who has time to read through 60 pages?

Why not allow specific questions, in specific threads? Seems like a SIMPLE solution to me. That thread on the 396 needs to be split into different/related threads. It's USELESS right now. No one has 3 hours to read through hundreds of posts to find what they need.

Just a thought...

One of the mods should go through and delete ALL of the useless posts.

Agreed about the long threads...and then one someone dares to ask a question, they get jumped on and told to do a search. Like you said, Dubbin...who in God's name is going to search sixty pages? I sure as heck ain't...LOL

That would be cool if it could be divided into subjects, but it would be one heck of a job. We must realize that the 396 is most advanced scanner to date, hence the huge forum. What I do, is to cut & paste anything I want to remember, and keep in a word file. I haven't got my 396 yet (too poor), but when I do, I have a great reference file.

I volunteer to break the threads up--if someone will give me access to do it. I've been running vBulletin for five years and I'm quite familiar with how to "work it". heh.

Lindsay, gonna install 3.5.0 soon, or too many hacks in 3.0.x to rework?

Finding things

In long threads, if you're "looking for something specific" and don't want to read EVERY one of them, if you're using Internet Explorer, just go to EDIT, and search for a key word. Then FIND NEXT until you locate what you're looking for.....Works for me anyway....Steve

Instead of breaking up the threads, it would be better to take any good tidbits of information and post them to the wiki.

Shaun, yes, eval'ing 3.5.0...

Lindsay, 3.5.0 has a bizarre logout problem that I've noticed on my board. It will say "Error: Unable to log out" or something. Then it says "Click here to log out", and when you click it, you log out. Real wierd. Reported by a few users. Probably a first-release bug.

3.5.0 is cool, but I want to see 4.0 ;)
