To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I bought a TYT TH 9800 radio last week. Where and how can I install this device in my Jeep Cherokee (KK) in the easiest and most effective way? Thank you in advance for your ideas.

Fortunately, the radio is capable of "spit mount" (the radio box can be mounted in a different location than the control head/microphone). That gives you a lot of options. I'd recommend adding an external speaker as well.

We've had a good number of posts about radio mounting-it's more involved than simply where to put the radio:
  • Get radio power directly from the battery, using an appropriate wire gauge for the current draw
  • Antenna selection and placement are important (avoid antennas from companies whose name you can't pronounce)
  • Avoid placing the control head on top of the dash
And while not mounting related, get the RT Systems programming software

1. I will get radio power directly from the battery
2. I've bought Diamond CR9800 quad band antenna
3. I got original TH9800 programme

Good plans. Remember proper fusing and wire routing.

The OEM TYT software is functional, but you might find the RT Systems software more user friendly.

The 9800 is a quad band radio, but it's FM only. Is FM widely used on the 10m band in Turkey? Here in the USA, the 10m band is primarily USB and FM is relegated to a few channels for repeaters and simplex in the upper end of the band.

First of all, thank you for your answer.
I use TYT original software and CHIRP software together.
As for the 10 M Band, there are both FM and USB devices in Turkey. However, the 10M band is not used as much as it used to be.
