I am trying to decide between the Uniden BR330T (analog trunking) and BCD396T (digital and analog trunking).

As far as I can see there are only two project 25 systems here; all else is analog. Is this correct? Of the digital modes, one is from the DoD which I guess is/will be encrypted.

Is it worth getting the BCD396T in a case like this? Are there plans for other systems to migrate to digital in WA over the next few years? Can you recommend other scanners?

Any comments will be much appreciated!

Thanks!

None of the Public Safety Systems in the Pugetropolis are going to be converting to P25 only with rebanding. They are all staying mixed mode. Any of the digital on King County, SERS, Tacoma and POS is encrypted anyway. Most of the stuff DoD and IWN P25 systems run encrypted. Save your money for now.
