Hey all! I’m not looking to spend a ton! I’m wanting a RadioShack HT scanner for Analog use. Which one should I get! Wanna listen to CHP, and also fire! Also I’m willing to buy the software to program the radio! Which one would you get?

If CHP is California Highway Patrol, I suggest that you click on Report and request that your thread be moved to the California forum. I believe CHP may be changing frequencies and systems. The members in California will be better equipped to answer your questions.

CHP will eventually move to the new CRIS System, but not for a while. What FDs are you interested in hearing?

If you just need an Analog scanner, any multi-band scanner should work. Even the latest greatest digital trunking scanner will still work fine on any analog system.
