Whistler 1040

My dept just went to a 700 trunked system in Prattville Alabama using the Montgomery Metro CCD as the backbone. My Batt chief's parents bought a whistler scanner to listen to us. I was going to program it for them. Where is the software on this site and how do you program it?

software for Whistler WS1040

I'm new at this. I have just purchased a Digital Trunking Handheld Radio Scanner. Whistler WS1040. I don't understand that I have to purchase software now to download so that I can get my freq. I'm trying to get Harrison county & Gregg county. I have purchased RadioReference, when I check and...

The T in the Mode column for Prattville Dispatch means it is P25 Phase 2 which the WS1040 cannot decode. The Prattville Ops talkgroups are fully encrypted which no scanner can receive. The WS1040 can decode Autauga VFD.Dispatch which is P25 Phase 1 (D in Mode column).

arc500 is free and great for programing in freq and trunked will need the cable to upload to scanner

At the minimum a P25 Phase-II capable scanner will be needed to bring this system in. Simulcast distortion doesn't appear to be a factor on the Prattville site so any scanner listed below should do

That is not correct! ARC500 is paid software as well as PSREdit500. Both have a free trial period to determine which one you like better. There is no free programming software for the WS1040.

You are correct! The Pro-18 is Phase 1 only. The Whistler Legacy Upgrade adds both P25 Phase 2 and DMR to the Pro-18.

i was wrong it is a paid program i just went and looked at it again i forgot my wife paid for mine as a gift sorry for leading u wrongly i got the basic for 40 bucks

ARC500 Basic is al you need to program your scanners. That is what I use.
