I like how the 800 shows "D2" for the phase II systems and how I can set certain channels to record instead of recording everything. I'll keep my 800 no matter what!
Seen this on the Radioshack site tonight. All say out of stock of course.
Whistler WS1025 Analog Desktop Radio Scanner. $139.99
Whistler WS1010 Digital Handheld Radio Scanner. $139.99
Whistler WS1065 Digital Desktop Radio Scanner. $599.99
Whistler WS1040 Digital Handheld Scanner. $599.99
They must be getting close....$600 bucks seems a pretty steep though.......
I need to find a way to keep all the dust out of the inside of the screen of the 800.

"Automatic Adaptive Digital Tracking
When monitoring P25 digital systems, instantly adapts the digital decoder to the digital modulation format of the transmitted signal, then analyzes the signal over 50 times each second and adapts to any subtle changes caused by multipath or fading. No cumbersome manual adjustments are required."
Is the "Automatic Adaptive Digital Tracking" something "new" that's not built into the GRE500 or the PRO-106? I have both and looked through the manuals and couldn't find anything on this.
It's called SuperTrack and it's not new at all.
I have a PSR800 and almost never turn it on. Its not a bad radio but its goofy interface and slowwwwww startup time and slowwwwwww response in scrolling through the menus is a real annoyance to me.
I've got my 536 tweaked now so that it performs almost just as well as any scanner I own.
But once it gets going the 800 is an awesum radio.
Your right. I'm sorry. I got out my old Pro-26,and took off the belt clip. It said it was made in the Philippines for RadioShack.
I did some research, and found out it was made by Uniden.portable s my favorite scanner of the analogue day's.
I thought that it was a GRE scanner. I was wrong. It was the fastest little scanner up to that point, and time.
It is, as long as you don't need to change channels!
Changing channels is easier on the PSR-800 than most other scanners. Just a click of the button.
Yup. GRE Whistler has the best P25 digital scanner on the market. "Automatic Adaptive Digital Tracking"
Where is the Whistler "UPMan" when you need them to answer questions.
Whistler has a big opportunity now that Uniden has dropped the ball on their so-called "flagship" line of scanners. Let's see if they can play this one right.
