When I turn my WS1098 (TRX-2) on in my car, I have to always select SCAN to start scanning, unlike the one at my home when I turn on, it starts scanning on its own. The one in the car is powered thru the 12V auxiliary which powers off when the car is shut off. As such, I suspect the one in the car's backup battery is low/old, and needs to be charged/replaced. If this is the cause of the issue, then where is the battery backup located - in the scanner itself or the removable control head - and can it be replaced?
