Who needs a haircut when you can pull your hair out over DSD+ audio issues?

I can get the DSD+ software to decode stuff, but when I do I have no freaking audio, so I cannot hear what it's decoded. Sigh...

In order to help you, please provide your DSD+ event logger settings under "Control" tab. As well as both "Input" and "Output" tabs. Screenshots will help people help you. Might as well provide which protocol of the signal you want to receive.

How do you (or we) know that you are decoding? How do you (or we) know _what_ you are decoding. Could be data. Could be voice. If it's data, you aren't going to hear anything. If it's encrypted voice you aren't typically going to hear anything. You left key windows out of your screenshot, as was already pointed out.

And you should realize that using SDR software + VB Cable + DSDplus is not going to allow you to trunk track / voice follow. I don't know if you are using a discriminator tap input or if you are using a dongle / airspy / RSP. If the latter, you really should try using FMP*-CC.bat and 1R.bat. Of course, that's if you have Fast Lane. If you don't have Fast Lane, you should get it :)

Dear OP remember we were told it is plug and play now with no trick commands to make it work.

You were told what by whom? If you are referring to DSDPlus (and specifically Fast Lane), should be as simple as downloading, installing, making sure your dongle driver is installed with Zadig (or that any applicable precondition is met when it comes to Airspys or SDRPlay devices). Then run FMP*-CC.bat (where * references A for Airspy, P for SDRPlay and 24 for RTL Dongle) and 1R.bat. Pretty simple.

Now if one wants to use the ancient free stuff available on www.dsdplus.com, expect a little more work.

It was a user that was in the SDR or SDS thread and a user made it very clear to that SDR was a plug and play device and you did not need to know anything about computers to use them.
Ok LOL. Well, that's far from the truth. I've used a few SDR packages, mainly SDRSharp. But if I haven't used it for a while, I stumble to get back in the groove.

Yeah, I don't have Fastlane, I just got the free version to try it on for size to see if I'd like it. I decided to try the local Amateur DMR repeater to test it. In the past, like when using AFSK1200dec, not having audio on decode was never an issue because I didn't want the hear the AX.25 packet bursts. Since I'm new to this, please don't expect me to be an expert. I'm an old analog man stuck in a digital world.

My apologies for the full screen capture, but I believe it has all the relevant data you guys asked for. You'll be able to zoom in though.

You're picking it up just fine. No errors. Showing DCC:1 (color code 1). It's simply all data at the present time. you aren't going to "hear" data. When there are voice calls you will hear them, assuming they aren't encrypted.

My suggestion is to go find some P25 stuff. Monitor a control channel. See what voice channels are active. Then switch to one of the voice channels and wait for some voice.

But I assure you everything looks hunky dorey with your setup. If there was voice to hear on that DMR frequency you would hear it (as long as you have your output set to your speakers).

SUCCESS! Thank you! I don't have NXDN enabled in my SDS100, but with this I can.

There have been sooooo many changes and improvements over the years from the release you are testing with. Do yourself a favour and just drop the $25 or whatever it is for a lifetime FastLane subscription. If tinkering with this kind of stuff is up your alley, you won't regret it.

May I suggest DSD-FME? FME stands for Florida Man Edition. LOL Yeah, I thought that was funny too. Now, I'm not sure if DSD-FME is better or not than the fastlane edition, but it may. DSD-FME is available at Github (GIT: Global Information Tracker)

I don't get it!
You are overreacting and not reading. "Countless configurations" does not mean "plug and play". Get over it and please try to help and not just digging old threads whre not everyone shares your personal opinion:)

When it comes to NXDN, improvements over the years in DSDPlus, compared to public DSDPlus version are not that many but some additions to the UI, start-up options, and other improvements not directly related to decoding, make spending lifetime subscription worth every penny :)
