I posted earlier in this forum about sharing an antenna for 2 scanners. I was told I need an active or passive multicoupler. I don’t understand why.
Right now I have my 895xlt and Pro 2053 both connected to my GRE 3001 pre amp. They are connected with a simple BNC T connector. Im showing no lose in signal, and I hear all channels very clearly. All my trunking works just as well as it did before I shared the antenna. I have done this when both scanners are running at the same time (just to test).
So what is the point of buying a multicoupler? Is there some other issue im not aware of?
Thank you
Joe
