Why is Tasmania #1 at times?

Why is Tasmania often the top of the top 100?

What is going on in Taz at pacific time daytime in LA that isn’t happening in Chicago or around the world that puts it at #1?

Crime? Citizen listeners? It seems like a weird #1 since nothing seems to ever happens there.

Its one of the last places in Australia where you can hear the police. The only other place now is rural Queensland.
Can be interesting at times. It's soon to go to the dark side when the 800mhz EDACS gets turned off and they go to a mixed VHF/UHF P25 statewide trunked system which should be just about ready to go.

Ah. Thanks for the explanation, Longreach. I noticed it pop onto the top 100 during the Taz COVID lockdowns which made perfect sense. Now that it’s the last game in town..I can really see why it’s often #1. Radios have some of the best entertainment and news around!
