It threw my feed off at about 2250 hours PST, and I could not get it up until afternoon PST. I could not log onto anything other than the home page for well over 12 hours. Not too pleasd.

Not to pleased? You're living up to your name. It's nothing to stroke out about, that's for sure.

Oh just for the record .... I'm not complaining about it. Fully understand the issue. But still would like to see an alternative the next big event - Not worrying about the forums, but be nice to be able to access the Database and Wiki.

The Error 503 I got was for the forums, I figured those were pulled down as they were Monday to free up space for the feeds. But damn, the Database was like trying to download 5GB on a 28.8 modem (remember those?) with the call waiting knocking me off cuz i forgot to disable it (Remember those days?)

Amazon might consider a fios front end ....

no pay no listen... that is my opinion
That's just it, the whole thing was down, pay folks or not. If I was paying, I'd really be annoyed.

As far as high traffic on the feeds taking the boards down, I don't agree with that. If anything, crash the feeds, especially for the non-payers. Leave the boards up. I don't really understand why with the split, the boards isn't on a separate server so as not to be affected. I thought that was part of the reason for the split to begin with.

I started out with a 300 baud acoustically coupled modem, and even that was faster than the forums were yesterday and earlier today!

Seems OK now.

First off Mike I am not stroking out about this. Second I am not living up to my name. Just because I am not pleased with something does not mean I am mad or stroking out. There is a big difference. Before you make generalized statements about someone you should at least know them. I am not pleased with the situation, but I understand why the system was overloaded. I don't believe RR could ever afford enough server space to handle the amount of traffic that comes with a national event, such as what occurred on Friday.

We're getting there - be patient. Lots of moving parts to migrate.
