• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

    If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

    To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have been trying for the past three weeks to get the Wideband Entitlement Key that I purchased from Motorola to work, but I have had no luck.

Every time I sign into my Motorola account I successfully enter my credentials and receive the verification code by email. After I enter the code, instead of completing the login, I get the following error:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it.
<Error>
<Code>AccessDenied</Code>
<Message>Access Denied</Message>
</Error>
I have already tried the following:

  • Allowed CPS 2 access through Avast Antivirus
  • Disabled my firewall for testing.
  • Disabled Avast completely while trying to get the entitlement key to work on cps 2
  • Verified that I can receive the Motorola verification email and successfully enter the code.
  • Attempted the process multiple times over the past three weeks.
Nothing has resolved the issue.

I'm hoping someone has experienced this before and can point me in the right direction. I understand that the entitlement must periodically reconnect to Motorola's servers to validate the license, but I can't even get through the initial activation.

Has anyone encountered this "AccessDenied" XML error after successfully logging into their Motorola account? If so, what was the fix?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a different browser? Could also be a cache problem as well. Might try using "incognito" mode. I've had issues with it in the past and switching from my home internet to using my phone as a hotspot resolved the issue.

I just checked and the above address is still working.
Open a incognito window in Google Chrome.
Log in with your normal credentials.
Enter the code that will be sent to your email.

Hopefully you'll see this:

Then open up CPS 2.0, and enter the EID they sent to you for the wide band entitlement. You should then be good to go. Make sure you're on the same IP address (outgoing from your house) for the authentication and then the computer for the entitlement, it doesn't necessarily have to be on the same computer, just the outbound IP address. So in other words don't try and use the hotspot on your phone to authenticate then your home internet to authenticate the actual EID on the CPS.
