I'm trying to setup the WiFi and I was going through a ton of threads and nothing helped.

Below you will find what I have done

1. I cannot run as admin I don't know how I unzip the file and it loads does not ask me to run as admin.

2. I hit reset to Factory on the scanner while in "Wi-Fi Setup"

3. It does not detect my wireless router. It detects my neighbors and 2 that are open Xifinity and Linksys. I click setup and says "Error Connecting."

4. I even tried access point mode with no luck

5. I'm using Com Port 5 so I'm not sure why it's not working. There is a 3 Com Port but I get the same message.

6. Sentinel Software is up to date

Here are the screen shots hoping you could help

If you are trying to run a zipped file, that's why you are getting errors.

is your routers SSID broadcasting?

you can download 7zip free to unzip files or there are several free unzip utilites.

i get com port errors alot but usually after i get the proper drivers and do a scan it works fine.

It must be because I use WiFi on my phone and it detects it

For unzipping, if your OS is recent just right-click the file and you should see an option such as "EXTRACT TO" or "UNZIP TO". Select that and unzip the file.

Once that is done, we can talk about the next steps, but I suspect your router may be running in WEP mode which is not supported and is a security risk.

NFR85, I'm having exactly the same problem as you. Did you find a solution to this problem?
