Who do we contact that can edit the main Wiki page? I know Lindsay can do this, but is there anyone else (I didn't want to bother Lindsay if someone else can handle it).

If there is someplace *obvious* that I could have found this information, please feel free to flame me...

It's been a while since I've used and edited the Wiki but doesn't the following still work?

"Anyone with a RRWiki user account can edit and change most of the pages here. Sign up for your account by using the link in the upper-right corner. Note that a RRWiki user account is separate from your normal RadioReference.com user account."

Whereas most of the pages can be edited, the main (and some others) cannot. This was mostly as a result of a hacking attack a few months back.

Just what on the Main Page do you think needs to be changed or added?

If there is a typo or something like that, I have access to edit that page. If you have a suggestion for general modifications, re-organization, etc. then go through Lindsay for that.

Nothing big. I recently started creating some pages about Yaesu/Vertex radios and was wondering who I would contact to get a link for it on the main page. It's no big deal, right now I don't really think I have enough information to make a link on the main page useful, but I just wanted to know for future reference.

Thanks for the information.

Please do set it up! There's quite the need for a good Yaesu/Vertex page, I know I would certainly like to see it. Even if you don't think you have enough for a page, others who see what you've done can add to it very easily. That is one of the Wiki's strengths.
Heck, I've been planning to put together a Yaesu page, which I was going to do after the holidays. You beat me to it!
Take a look at the Radio Software page. There's already a couple of packages for various Yaesu/Vertex radios that you could add to your lists. I can also go into the Strong Signals software page and see if there's anything else that handles Yaesus. Also take a look at the RadioIntel site (it's linked in the SWL and utlity Wikis). There's an extensive receiver based page there, with everything from mailing lists to dedicated web pages.

I think I will move into the Winradio world. Whoever has access to the main page, I'll need an entry posted for that as well. I'll develop the page.

Lou, I thnk some sort of directory needs to be set up on the main page. Just take a look at the number of orphaned pages. It's certainly difficult to find something. I know Lindsay has about 28 hours of work to perform in a 24 hour day, can't somebody do this for him?

Well, I agree that some of the links could be improved but instead of adding links on the main page, we should be shrinking them into broader catagories.

How about it Eric?

I added Yaesu and Vertex links to the main page. If there are other things that you think should be linked on the main page, then post them in this thread or send me a private message.

Thanks for the help guys. Hopefully now that they are visible the Yaesu/Vertex information can grow. I own & enjoy a Yaesu FT-60 which inspired me to create those sections.

I'd have very broad catagories only on the main page, major catagories under that, sub (and even sub-sub) catagories under that. Think of a pyramid.

For example, on the main page, have a Pictures Catagory. Under that, you'd have Police, Fire, Radio Installs, Antenna Sites, Rubber Bath Toys, etc.

Then the user pages... Tommy's pics of NYPD cars, Joes pics of the one and only Cherry County Sheriff car.... etc.

Good organization will make the Wiki another of the most important parts of the site. Lack of it and people won't bother even trying to find it as it's too much trouble to find information.
