SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. -- A wind-fueled fire was raging and threatening homes in the rugged Santa Cruz Mountains early Thursday.
Fire officials said a wildfire burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains has grown to about 1,000 acres.
More than 200 firefighters are on the scene of the blazing working to contain the fire.
