I've noticed a lot of the folks up north have gotten most of the attention. Checks from the media, air time, etc. I hope they will focus on those of us in the southern part of the county as well. We need all of the help we can get.

My late afternoon and evening yesterday was spent helping the good people of Beggs battle 3 seperate grass fires. I saw the P-3 Orion aircraft overhead and a small twin engine plane. We had the BIA firemen there, our own state forestry and North Carolina's truck was next to us for a while with a 2 man crew. Everything worked out for the best in the end. I'm glad we have some extra resources.

I'm hoping for rain like everyone else I'm sure.

Since I was on scene working the grass fire (West of 106th x Memoral). I also saw Country Corner, Ownes & Co, BIA, OK Forstery and Northwest Roger County Fire.

I was happy to see that no homes were destoryed in the fire. Just a few out buildings and barns...

Today was very busy in the Owasso area. Multiple fires were worked within 5 miles of the house. Thanks to the brave men & women firefighters from all the different departments and agencies, none got closer than a couple of miles. Plus don't let me forget about the many different law enforcement agencies and reserve officers that were involved with the evacuation, traffic control, and manhunt for the suspected person or persons who may have set these fires. God speed you in your task to bringing the responsible party to justice.

I know I will probably leave en agency out, but here are some of the ones that I was able to ID:
Owasso, Turley, Sperry, Colllinsvile (Municipal & Rural), Skiatook, Tulsa, Ramona, Limestone, Black Dog, and at least one helicopter tanker (didn't catch any air to ground traffic, I saw it skimming the trees around 96th St N & Memorial).

Law enforcement included:
Owasso, Sperry, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, OHP, Collinsville, Rogers County Sheriff's Office, and Washington County Sheriff's Office.

I am sure I failed to mention someone. What I want to make sure I don't fail to do is express my deepest appreciation to all the brave men & women who risk their life and limb to protect their neighbors. Again, Thank You.

The departments that I mentioned in my earlier post were the ones I heard while monotoring three radios and trying to assemble an emergency evacuation package. Seeing your post mentioning Owens & Co. reminded me that I also heard their name mentioned. Where are they located? Thank you and all your fellow firefighters and law enforcement officers for the outstanding work you did and continue to do. Later Sunday when my wife and I went to visit her brother in the Stonegate addition of Collinsville, I was shocked to see how close things came. This was later shown on KTUL Channel 8's news from their helicopter.

What I want to know is why hasn't the press mentioned anything about the gray car that was the focus of a manhunt around 16:00 to 16:30?

Wouldn't having more eyes looking for this car help catch these weasles before they start another fire that may burn down a house or kill someone?

I imagine that these idiots are someone around here close and could have been connected to the fires west of Highway 75 two weeks ago on New Years Day. Someone knows this car. Someone may have overheard someone talk about the fires at school a little too much. I know this is a rural problem, but why can't the local media and/or crimestoppers take up this case and get these people behind bars?

Through a friend, I got a copy of the ICS Incident Radio Communications Plan from last Saturday, which lists the channels, frequencies and their usage by the wildfire teams. There are some obvious miscues (155.760 listed as a statewide local govt and VFD fire freq, for example), it's a glimpse into the official world. I am confused about the divisions listed, as they don't seem to match up with Oklahoma Fire Response 2006 Division Boundries map on the Okla. Dept. of Ag. website. Finally, did some minor cleaning up of the list, it gave TX and RX freqs, but all are simplex, so I dropped the separate listings. I also did some slight reformating to make it a bit easier to read, but otherwise kept all the original text as is. The last 3 channels list a PL tone, that is shown below the frequency. I'll be sending this as a seperate update on FAST2's db page.
