Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I know the Motorola XTS5000 does analog and P25, but will it do MotoTrbo? Several local agencies (private and public) use MotoTrbo requiring CC, TG, and SL entries. I have the programming software for this radio, but I cannot figure out if I am able to program my radio for this.

I was able to do it on my Anytone 878 (I know the 878 is designed to do DMR and pretty sure it will do MotoTrbo (I think)).

Thank you for your quick reply. Do you know if there is a radio (or radios) similar to the XTS5000 III that will do P25 and MotoTRBO?

Since you have an XTS5000, and that being single band, you do have one option:
Kenwood NX-5000 line will do Analog, P25 and DMR (or NXDN, but you only get 2 digital modes in the radio at a time)

If Multiband is affordable and you need it:
Tait has the TP-9900 that should be released soon, it'll do Analog, P25 and DMR. It's hard to find info on it, but it was on display at IWCE earlier this year.
Kenwood/EFJohnson VP-8000 is another multiband that will do analog and P25. DMR option is coming soon, already being tested in the field.

There's probably others I'm forgetting, but you get the idea.
