I am interested in buying a Uniden BDC325P2 and was wondering if it will perform well in my area. I am in Huntsville/Owens Cross Roads in North Alabama. I am not sure if this scanner will have issues, any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

If you are going to be monitoring the Huntsville Simulcast site, I would consider going with the SDS100 since it is designed to handle simulcast systems. I have used a Uniden BCD436HP (a scanner also not designed specifically for simulcast) to monitor the Huntsville Simulcast and ran into issues with simulcast distortion. My SDS100 performs much better with simulcast systems.

The SDS series scanners are the only ones that are specifically designed to handle simulcast. All other scanners may or may not have issues depending on factors such as your particular location relative to the simulcast towers. Unication pagers are also an option, but keep in mind that they are not traditional scanners.
