WIll this wire work?

I need to run about 75 feet of antenna wire from the back side of the house to the front. I am connecting to a Uniden BCD996P2 scanner at one end and a Discone antenna at the other end. I have a length of Superior Essex 2004, 2x22 BWW BRF, wire and am wondering if it would work?

That sounds like 2 pair telco cable, so I'm going with no.

That is 2 pair 22 gauge wire. Not suitable for radio use. Great for telephone use.

For a 75' run, I'd recommend looking at Times Microwave LMR-400 or better. LMR-600 or even 1/2 inch Heliax (LDF4-50a) if your budget allows. At 75 feet you'd be looking at a lot of feed line losses at 800MHz.

If you are only doing VHF/UHF, you might get away with RG-8, but you can really do better.
