Willamette National Forest

While driving through Detroit, closecall picked up 171.7875 PL 127.3 with input of 162.9625 PL 127.3. I only heard one conversation between a dispatcher and field unit. It sounded like law enforcement. Does anyone else know anything about this frequency? If you're in the area, can someone confirm its use?

From what your saying, that looks to be WNF new LE freq. I have old list that has that PL listed for Detroit lake on old vhf system they used. But, still need confirmation.

Those are also the frequencies for the USFS LEO Net for California. 171.7875 used to be the Output for one of the Umatilla NF Nets, before it was changed last year.

I also wanted to mention that those frequencies are also the old NIFC Command 7 Repeater pair. In addition, 171.7875 was also recently used on the Bighorn National Forest, which was also changed, and is listed as on of the nets for the Medicine Bow National Forest; unknown if this Net has been changed.

I was going through some old records, and found an entry for the old? Willamette LEO Frequency on Coffin Mtn, near Detroit, listed as 169.600, with a tone of 151.4, but no tone for 127.3. The information is fairly dated.

Ok, I can confirm that 171.7875 is active as a Law Dispatch frequency for USFS Willamette LE. Does anyone know if this should replace the frequency 168.025 that is currently listed as LE for WNF?

I heard FS LE unit say not all of the repeater sites on up for new freq. But, sound 168.025 isn't being used any longer.

Side note : 171.5250 pl 103.5 (NORTH - Detroit area) is now being used by WIF for fire dispatch and patrols. 164.9125 pl 103.5 appears to be silent now. USFS -WIF Law Enforcement (Siuslaw Natl' Forest Law Enforcement too) is no longer being dispatched by METCOM 911 Woodburn. *OSP took over the contract for the Frank Units on the Willamette and Siuslaw Natl Forests as of July 1st.. so you might starting hearing them pop up on OSP channels or specific USFS channels very soon.
