I'm using a Uniden BC245XLT handheld trunk tracker. From what i've gathered, this model will be put on the shelf if the rebanding goes in effect. Not happy about that...

If i'm not mistaken, these 2 radios are the same.

Thanks radar, that makes sense. I hear traffic (tones dropped for RRFD, etc.) on 2832+3 almost daily. I only hear 2032+3 used every once in a while. (I don't ever remember seeing either TG without +3.)

I'm looking forward to your updates tomorrow.

Radar, the problem I mentioned in the email reared it's ugly head again on sunday. It seems that when 857.9625 becomes the control channel in the rotation, my scanner refuses to go into ID SCAN. I then have to listen to the entire county in able to hear Cedar Park or any other individual talkgroups. Can you check into this on your side for me? I'm curious if the problem is my scanner or the county's system.

FlashSWT, I might see if you can check your scanner the next time this happens for me too. I might give you or Radar a phone call when it happens.

I'd appreciate it if one of you could possibly help me check this out! It's driving me crazy. Yesterday I had to listen to every single transmission throughout the county in order to hear Cedar Park. Last night Cedar Park had a short pursuit and I couldn't keep up with it because of G-town, RR, EMS, and County were all talking at the same.

Thanks

Hey radar, thanks for the updates. Any updates on RR, GT, or CP you can provide would also be greatly appreciated.

I did find a few things that I think need to be fixed in the database. I'll list them here so you can see what you think. Let us know what is correct and I'll take the time to submit the changes it if that is easier for you.

2832 / 2032: You mentioned above that 2832 (and not 2032) is the real EMS Scene 2. In the just-posted update it still has 2032 listed as EMS Scene 2 however. Just today I heard RRFD toned out to a medical on 2835 so I'm guessing you were correct a few posts back and 2832 is the real Scene 2.

4912: It just looks like the description is wrong (assuming the Display is correct). It should read "Southwest."

These next ones are easy to miss unless you view the page with all TGs displayed in numerical order. (click here)

3408 is now listed twice in the database. Once for EMS Talk and again as Sheriff Talk 1.

3536 is now listed twice. Once as EMS Scene 7 and again as Sheriff Tactical.

On these last two I'm assuming the new additions are correct (3408=EMS Talk / 3536=EMS Scene 7) but I just wanted to verify with you.

Thanks again!

Good eyes! I've been working those posts by Radar and I even overlooked that!

Radar, I'll be waiting for you to confirm those other talkgroups. I already fixed 2832 and the southwest EOC talkgroup

pacrat551: Thanks pacrat, I was wondering if an admin was keeping up with this thread. However 2832 is now listed twice also.

KC5SUZ: Good to hear.

OK I'm Pretty sure these are right

3536 is Scene 7 it is no longer used by the SO as one of thier tacs
3408 is the tricky one ,it can be called Talk 1 or Ems talk . The SOs display is Talk 1 and the EMS Display is Ems Talk
2832 is scene 2 really it is ,Display / Scene 2 / ( Scene 2 RR OPs)
5520 WCFD Pri is not patched , its only patched in with a VHF channel (fdcomm Leander or liberty hills) when needed

Dose that look about right Aaron ?

Williamson County's TRS has been pretty busy this weekend with all the evacuees in town at shelters.

It looks like Georgetown PD has been using TG 816 for shelter operations up there (I think the shelter is closed now). I was never able to hear the TG identified and it isn't listed in the database. Obviously it isn't a frequently used TG but I wanted to see if anyone knows it's official name so we can get it in the database.

Hey guys. I hope everyone's 2006 has started off well. I had a few new questions to throw at the group.

1. On EMS Primary I frequently hear users such as "EMS 10" and similar (as opposed to "Medic XX"). Who/what are these units that ID as "EMS" instead of "Medic"?

2. I'm curious if anyone else on here ever scans from their car in the area around Louis Henna/SH 45 and Greenlawn Blvd. in Round Rock (right by Dell headquarters). I consistently get poor reception in this area and if I'm traveling eastbound on Louis Henna (on the South side of the new highway from the city) I'll actually drop the Control Channel for about a half-mile in either direction of Greenlawn Blvd.
I'm just curious if this is a result of my crappy Pro-90 or something everyone experiences.

-- Thanks

I'm still looking for answers to the above questions but have another:

Does anybody know what was happening this morning on Round Rock PD Special Ops (TG 1872) from around 9:30 to 11:00 AM?

WCEMS has 4 areas. Round Rock for example has 4 medic crews (M11, M12, M13, M14) & M51 (Transfer truck from 8-5am) There needs to be a Captain for all of these crews so there is one medic with a radio designation of "EMS 10". If EMS 1 (The shift commander) needs something or dispatch has a general question about a call in the Round Rock area that is who they call on the radio. Now there is also an EMS 20 (West side), EMS 30 (Georgetown area) & then EMS 40 on the east side. These folks ride the rig of course.

Hey Beaky, thanks for the info, very informative. I knew about the four areas and four crews but I didn't realize M51 was designated for transfers down here. So if EMS 10 is a working medic on one of the units (M11, M12, M13, or M14) who is it that shows up on major incidents in one of the white Suburbans (Expeditions?).

Also since we're on the topic, every once in a while, when it sounds busy, dispatch will inform EMS1 of a level 5 (or whatever). I'm assuming this is a report on the availability (or lack there of) of Medic units to respond to calls. I was just curious what the different levels are and what they mean.

And while we're here, I'll often hear Dispatch "move" a unit northwest, or south central, or whatever. I'm curious if these are relative for the whole county or only within a specific area. IE: Would moving northeast mean something different for Medic 12 then it would for Medic 33?

Thanks again.
