My first post in this group, and I hope I can get some help. The trunked network I am trying to listen to is...

http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=2560

... and while most of the talkgroups are digital, the only ones I am interested in are the analog ones for the Ministry of Health.

I have entered the information as best I know in win97 (Bank 0), and have attached the file to this post. Have I entered the information correctly, as I have not been able to pick any tranmissions up when I know that there should be some.

Thanks in advance for any help...

Timber71,

I tracked down the other two threads you started on this problem and now I see why you're having so much trouble. It looks like the frequencies and base offset listed for your system are not recognized as using a valid step size. That's why both the scanner and WIN97 are rounding the entered frequency to the nearest valid step size.

I web imported the system you did and came up with the same results. Manual entry also caused the same rounding problem.

Basic question. When you listen to the control channel in manual mode (not scanning) do you hear the data? If so you should see the talkgroup IDs flashing.

Sorry I can't give you a better answer but it looks like you have a tough system up there!

Best of luck.

Thanks Dan. Yes, I was receiving information on the control channel, and percentages were showing up in the data of 10-15%. I moved up to a higher part of the house, and everything appears to me working now.

I have no idea why the frequencies listed for this talkgroup don't appear to be standard, but with the pro-97 rounding, it still works.

The frequencies are for the system, not the talkgroups. I'd hazard a guess that the base and/or offset used in Canada on that band are different from what's used in the US, and the scanner is US-centric.

Timber

try putting that base frequency in as 141.01500 offset of 380 and step size of 15

EDIT

Disreagard, I see that it won't work.
