I am enjoying my new PSR-310 and playing with WIN500 during my 30 day period. A couple of newbee questions.
1) Does the square boxes in my attachment image imply I am missing some fonts somewhere? If so, what do I need?
2) Can you say anything about the upload process to the PSR-310? I seem to be seeing random CHKSUM errors which is forcing a reboot of the PSR-310. Simply repeat the function again and it appears to work? It almost looks like I need to guarantee the PSR-310 is doing nothing before I start the upload. Is there a recommended set of commands to execute before an upload is started? And if there is, can the upload process start with them as an enhancement?
3) When adding a TSYS Object, I try to follow the NOTE in the box after adding a TSYS. I can add a TGRP for only the first TSYS object. Trying to add a TGRP for the 2nd TSYS object seems to do nothing more than add a 3rd TSYS object? Am I misreading the Note or is it lacking some instructions after the initial TGRP? This could also be a newbee problem.
4) Are the shortcut keys under Edit changeable? I ran into a compatibility issue with my display manager and my two displays. My display manager got the short-cut instead of WIN500. Workaround is simply to not use.
5) Sure would like to build CONV objects from a CSV file. It would make building a memory load for a NASCAR race much easier. Perhaps an enhancement request.

Onward and upward.

Andy

LCD display in Win500 has quite working?

I broke a golden rule. Too much got changed at one time and the net result is I have lost my PSR310 LCD display in the WIN500 window and the separate LCD window. Looking for something that will recover it.
1) Upgraded win500 to 1.9.9
2) Upgraded PSR310 firmware code from 1.0 to 1.1 level
3) Registered win500 and applied license.

After all the above, everything appears back up except the LCD windows on the PC remain blank. I can control functions from the PC and reload the PC bit mp LCD display on the PC in a windows 32 Vista environment. The real LCD on the PSR310 works as expected. Any ideas where I should start to recover. Has anyone else upgraded from 1.0 to 1.1 on their PSR-310. I really like the separate LCD window to spot where the scan stopped on.

There was a change made to the LCD response in firmware version 1.1. I'm sure Don will have a fix out soon to handle it.

I finally went and picked up a PSR-310 this morning (it's a bit handy having GRE America 30 minutes away), and have modified Win500 and Win500Client to support the PSR-310/410 CPU firmware version 1.1.

There's a new "PSR-310/410" check box on Win500's Monitor/Control tab. It must be checked if, and only if, a PSR-310/410 is connected.

The remote client app automatically detects the type of data it's receiving, and requires no user intervention.

WIN500 Enhancement Suggestion

Things are looking good on the 2.0 version. Looks like you were able to fix the font issues I mentioned earlier and I have not seen any recent chksum errors and unit restarts. As I experiment more with my PSR-310 I notice I often forget to stop Monitor//Control prior to a Upload/Download and end up getting your error message unable to communicate. So I wonder if it is a reasonable suggestion to ask.

When attempting to do a upload/download and Monitor/Control is started, then issue the needed stop command prior to the requested up/down action and followed by a start of MonitorControl if it was stopped for the up/down load request. On the surface I don't see any issues but I consider myself still learning and I may not be looking at the big picture.

Thanks

WIN500 How do I autostart LCD in own window if minimized?

In my miscellaneous Preferences, I have both the Start Minimized and Monitor/Control at startup checked. I also have LCD in it own window checked elsewhere. WIN500 does start minimized but the Monitor/Control LCD in it's own window does not appear until I click on the minimized Win500.exe window which forces Win500.exe to open and Monitor/Control LCD in its own window to start. I can then minimize Win500.exe leaving the LCD in separate window running as expected.

Is this working as expected? Why do I have to force the win500.exe open to get the LCD separate window to start? Running 2.0 Win500 in windows/vista 32 bit environment.

I can only imagine that it's because Windows isn't letting a minimized window create a non-minimized, always-on-top window that's visible. When you restore the main Win500 window (by clicking its button in the taskbar), Windows shows the "LCD window" and subsequently keeps it visible.
