Can anyone help me out.

I am wondering if there is a wireless speaker system that I could run my 796 scanner on, so i don't need to run wires. Also if in a freq band that will not cause interference around the neighborhood.

I would like to have at least 4 speakers. Any suggestions or concerns please let me know.

Thanks

RS has a stereo system - use stereo to mono adapter to plug into scanner so that both channels are the same(scanner)
two sets will give you four speakers

I use this to get speaker (1) at scanner (2) room (3) room (4) room
works well - and you can turn speakers on/off as you desire

about $90 per system and available at other stores as well - check for sales

Actually you would be rebroadcasting which is illegal I think...

J/K

Nope - if there happens to be a scanner in the room, it's incidental.

You can pop into the nearest Wal-Mart and pick up a Belkin Tunecast FM Transmitter (or equivalent) in the electronics department. They're made to be plugged into an Ipod or any other sound source so you can rebroadcast to a car stereo, but they'll work on any FM radio. The cheapest one is twenty or so bucks and uses 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, or 88.7 MHz. Needs two AAA batteries.

They have bigger ones that cost more, but I doubt you need presets, etc., just to rebroadcast scanner output.

And just to scare the neighbors, plug the transmitter into your sound card Line Out / Speaker Out and use your home stereo system while playing those really fun (and loud) air combat PC games...

Awww... come on. Can't you just see your neighbor wondering why all the cops are in her baby's room?

Or,for that matter, someone else in the vicinity of where you live posting on this forum:

"Really interesting radio traffic heard on 49.830Mhz"
