Any chance that Uniden could tweak the software so that systems without talkgroups would be downloaded, programmed and set to ID Search?

Currently, it doesn’t program them at all, which hampers the ability of the user to locate and identify talkgroups on new systems.

This can be accomplished by using PROSCAN as a Premium Member and using the RR Database, but it needs to be fixed in Sentinel so all users have access.
And ARC536, but that has nothing to do with it. This is about Sentinel.

This has come up periodically over the years (including mid-2024 discussions in various threads), but I haven't spotted any direct response from Uniden engineers (like UAE/UJE) on implementing an auto-download tweak for systems with zero predefined talkgroups in the RRDB.

Sentinel currently skips pulling those systems entirely during database updates to avoid cluttering profiles with incomplete/empty entries—it's by design to prioritize documented TGs.

That said, your request for Uniden to auto-add the system skeleton (frequencies/sites) and default the department to ID Search On is a reasonable one for making discovery easier on emerging or lightly-documented trunks (DMR, NXDN, etc.). It would streamline hunting new activity without manual setup every time. However this IMO takes away from the excitement of the radio scanning hobby.

I'm everywhere Focker!
I "believe" the reasoning behind not importing trunked systems with no TG's was the original Home Patrol concept was for novice users to be able to punch in a zip code and start listening and systems with all (or a lot) of "unknown" TG's would confuse or discourage them.

Now the option to download them is a good idea.

Except, that if I recall correctly, one of the "Extreme" options in the HomePatrol series is TG discovery. I certainly found a few, when I travelled down to southern California, when my mother had meetings down there.

And yes, it's a good Idea, as it adds to discovering what's active.
