So I'm listening on broadcast Spotify and wonder about the channels that encrypted I know sometimes I hear some encrypted traffic but most of the traffic is non-encrypted but radio reference doesn't show the accuracy of lowercase E which indicates partially encrypted. I was wondering if people on broadcast that are actually broadcasting with traffic have gotten clearance to listen to an encrypted channel or are they listening to a semi encrypted channel? Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks in advance for the reply.

No, it sounds like whatever your system is which we don't know is partially encrypted, it might be controlled by individual officers with a slide switch on their radio or dispatch. If you hear them in the clear and then sometimes hear them encrypted then it is partial encryption. Doesn't have anything to do with how you are listening to them.

If I could suggest original poster, pay close attention to comms. Make a log and when you're confident that it is just partial encryption submit a report to the database which will be reviewed by your database administrator and the database will be corrected, with a small e.

Is broadcast Spotify a feed streamed online from Broadcastify or some app? Or are you listening on a scanner?

If you are listening on a scanner, then it is likely that channel is partially encrypted as trentbob suggests.

If you are listening to a feed streamed online, it is possible (edit; but unlikely) that the feed is an official feed provided by the agency. Some agencies provide a feed for encrypted channels (usually delayed).

Provide information on the system you are referring to and we might be able to help further.

Oh yeah, I would love to hear about an official stream of encrypted transmissions from anybody.. legally. Need more information!!!!!!!

Just kidding with you, I don't think that's the case here.

thank you all so much for the confirmation. That’s what I was thinking. I was thinking it was something where it was partially encrypted that’s interesting. And the reason I was questioning because I saw on radio reference that it was a capital E so it was really weird. Maybe they don’t wanna encrypt every traffic only just a data sensitive information like if someone looks up somebody on the system or something like that.

I definitely will

sorry for the second reply I meant to also add this. Yes I meant broadcastify sorry for the clerical error.
