I'll be interested to know what you are able to hear.
I programmed my SDS200 with the frequencies you provided. It's attached to an off-center-fed dipole hanging indoors in the corner of the radio shack.

This am, I distinctly heard: callsign Viper on one of the Boston frequencies.

YES!!!

Thanks for the help.

The VT ANG F-35s out of Burlington were working in the Viper airpace (the area near Fort Drum) this morning and early afternoon. They usually use VHF when talking with Boston though. They were using 314.400 for air-air, checked on with Viper Common 226.300 and the Fort Drum Range 244.500, on return they called OPS on 293.700 with their eta. Maybe what you heard ? Not that often they fly on weekends.

If you a happen to be monitoring now (Tue 1020 EDT) there is a flight of 2 A333 tankers with reported to be GAF Tornadoes about to fly directly overhead Albany. I'm not sure what frequencies they are using ? If you do a search 225-380 you might catch their Boom and air-air frequencies.

Displaying my ignorance: would the tower be simulcasting all the time or only when dealing with a military aircraft?
Its an Advisory to other military Aircraft in the area.
They do it here in New Bedford MA (KEWB) (239.000) because of the Cape Cod Military Resevation and Quonset ARNG/ANG in RI.

Not sure what times you typically monitor but you should be hearing a lot more than just that. This morning between 10:00-11:00 there were about 7 Tankers working the various AR routes in that area. The AR frequencies should be very busy as they join up in range of your location.
