Our family will be traveling to Wisconsin Rapids for Thanksgiving. Did I hear correctly that Wood County Sheriff is using APCO-25 these days on 155.595 and that Portage County is still analog on 155.550? Looked at the database here and that seems to be the case... just wondering if Wood County is mixed or 100% digital?

Howdy All...

Portage County Sheriff is using 155.5950 and is operating in P25 Digital. I heard no encryption used in the hour or two I was able to monitor them (I live in Milwaukee). Wood County uses 155.5500 and was in the Analog mode when I last heard them (Earlier this year). That may have changed...but Please let us know what you hear that is digital.

Do you know about "Scan-Wis" radio group? It is a internet group devoted to scanning in Wisconsin (Police, Fire, Railroad, Ham, etc). Also..I am the owner of the "Wisconsin Scanning Homepage" (http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Lab/7646/). I have scanning information for the entire state.

Thanks, Tim - That's kind of what I thought. I'm only in that area one or two days per year and since the other areas that I travel through have ONLY analog systems, I probably will not upgrade to a monitor that decodes digital audio. State District 4 is analog and are usually dispatching their own units to any major 10-50's in the area, so I'll just monitor 155.445.

Again - thanks for the info.
