WR-G303i

I'm thinking of buying the WR-G303i as my first receiver
is this the same as a "shortwave radio" I want to get into NOOA.
and receiving data from it.

is this a good unit?
or Icom PCR1500 offer a better solution for shortwave PC based.
and what about pc interferences with either product?

I haven't seen any Winradio vs.PCR1500 head-head reviews yet, but I'm willing to bet the Winradio will come out on top as a HF receiver - see:
