Not sure if anyone else heard the radio chatter on the wreck this morning. 39th Expressway just east of Meridian. I rolled up on it as it was called out. Guy in a SUV split a wood utility pole in two at the bottom. I hung out with a few of the officer's for a bit and sat on a side road. Grabbed a few pics, then started rolling video when the bottom of the pole caught on fire.

I was waiting for it to explode. Damn if I didn't get lucky. I had just turned my head when it blew. Talk about "pucker factor". I am putting the video up on my server so everyone can look at it.

I have come to the realization that I can't upload or download anything of substantial size. That is, I can't while I am hooked up to my Sprint phone using Bluetooth. I wonder if something in the programming language prevents it?

Oh well, as soon as I can hit one of my hotspots, I will send it over to the server. Same link will apply.

I dont know for sure .. but any data transmitted over the cellular network cannot be fast.

I'm thinking that the throughput is ~19k to 25kbps or so .. dialup speeds.

For some unkown reason sending it over using ws_ftp was not working either. I am using normal login ftp to do it right now. Hopefull this will work because this video is just too awesome.

Hey D if you are trying to send it over straight from the format that you copied into the computer with it may be WAY too large since this is the original dv format (I'm guessing your cam is DV) designed for high-quality and therefore has a large file size. You may want to change it from the import format to a compressed .wmv or .mpg format to save size and server space (you may be trying to use too much server space). You can do this with "Windows Movie Maker" (or equivalent program) and it is not very hard. Also if you are trying to do it over your phone still you're using a speed that it closer to dial-up than high speed cable. You may want to pull up next to a IHOP or somewhere else that has free high speed internet rather than trying to use your phone.

It is an .avi file. I am using broadband from home on two different computers. I have NEVER had this problem before. Also, I have unlimited file space, and no transfer limit.

I will poke around tonight and see what I can come up with. If nothing else, everyone can see it at the next meeting.

Bring your laptop to the work tonight and I will help you with it.

.AVI files tend to be large. Do you have a video editing program or Windows Movie Maker?

That laptop and I are one young Jedi.

I will go in around nine or so. I have plenty of broadband hotspots mapped out. So speed is not an issue.
