Have a WS1010 that I unplugged for about 5 minutes. Powering it back on now I see ALL CH L-out when hitting scan. Navigating up/down manually shows only 000.0000. All banks have a line under them so they are enabled. Did this thing just lose all frequencies I had programmed into it?

If so, recommendations for a scanner / brand that maintains programming even when powered off?

Memory Backup – Keeps the frequencies stored in memory for an extended time.
that is from the manual

i do not know of any scanner that clears out the memory on a power toggle.

To clarify I'm hoping my presets are not lost, but if they are, then this scanner is going in the garbage, and I'll be looking for a scanner that keeps frequencies permanently regardless of any battery or power loss.

It doesn't say the memory is permanent or non-volatile. It seems to imply that there may be a capacitor used for memory retention. If a memory backup capacitor fails, you would lose the programming if not on an AC adapter or the batteries were dead or removed. Any loss of power would erase the memory. Try programming a frequency while on the AC adapter. Turn the scanner off, wait for about a minute, and turn back on. If the frequency is still present, turn the scanner off and remove all power (Unplug adapter and remove batteries). Restore power and turn scanner back on. If frequency disappears, you have a memory backup problem.
