WS1040 for Fountain Hills area

Good morning, I lost my old GRE scanner, so buying a new one. Would the ws1040 be sufficient for scanning the valley area?

No, Fountain Hills is using a Phase 2 system which is not compatible. Also, many sites are simulcast which that scanner does not receive well.

I'd pick up a Uniden SDS100 so you don't end up pulling your hair out trying to cope with the ugly effects of simulcast distortion
